What happens in between
He shouldn't be here, what the hell WAS he doing here? Ah yes! He remembered now. Slowly, he tightened his grip on the steering wheel as he looked across the road at the house that had a warm glow, the remnants of Christmas still remaining. Suddenly his phoned bleeped – it was a text, he knew who it was from and didn't answer it… He couldn't, beads of sweat slowly ran down either side of his face as his guilt resurfaced. As he turned his head to look; he saw her silhouette. Taking a deep breath, he got out of the car and headed towards the door - she opened it before he had a chance to knock.
'You came then.'
'As you see.'
'I haven't got long.'
She didn't reply, instead gesturing to the baby in her arms, he felt his throat go dry as he knew what she was going to say next. '…And then there were two.'
